Official statement from Democratic challenger Grier Raggio regarding Pete Sessions' comments on Meet the Press:
Yesterday Pete Sessions made an appearance on Meet the Press. Instead of offering real solutions for job growth, fiscal responsibility and the issues voters are concerned about, Sessions chose to promote his own deeply partisan personal agenda. His behavior was that of a typical DC insider. He played the Washington blame game, but failed to offer any true solutions of his own.
"Let's go right to it," Pete Sessions said when he was asked how he would balance the budget. He then refused to give anything but a "gauzy agenda", as host David Gregory described Sessions' reply. I wonder if Congressman Sessions read the bills when he voted for 8 years of budget deficits under George W. Bush, which took us from surpluses under President Clinton, to deficits that increased our national debt by 72%.
Sadly, when you have a national Rent-A-Congressman whose loyalty is to Washington lobbyists you come to expect such behavior. Sessions has become a puppet whose strings are pulled by the special interests, mega-corporations and Washington insiders.
I have one special interest group; the families of North Texas. Pete Sessions was right when he said voters back home will vote against incumbents who voted for more spending and more deficits, which describes Pete Sessions exactly. The people of Dallas are fed up with their pro-Washington Rent-A-Congressman and will hold him personally accountable for his actions on Election Day.
