"Who kept the faith and fought the fight; The glory theirs, the duty ours."
--Wallace Bruce
This weekend we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Please join me in taking time Monday to honor these heroes who died to protect our freedom.
My father spent 6 months on Iwo Jima during World War II and while he came back, many did not. He never talked about his friends who lost their lives, but I know he thought of them often. But it is not just the veterens of World War II that we honor, nor is it the many from my generation that did not come back from Vietnam but all the great Americans who lost their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom that makes America great. Especially, the over 5,000 Americans and 484 Texans who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001.
I have the utmost respect for these men and women who have given themselves so that our country can stay safe. Join me in taking time to honor them and their families for their sacrifices.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS IN THE 32ND DISTRICT
This Sunday is a special day for all the Mother’s in the 32nd District. I wanted to take some time to honor my mother, Louise Raggio, “The Texas Tornado.”
My mom had a big impact on my life – she instilled the Texas values of hard work, discipline and the responsibility for public service. It was from her that I got my desire for public service. She was a real Texas Original. Her pioneering work on behalf of women’s rights continues to bear fruit. When I see my mom I think of my own daughters and all of the generations of women who she mentored in her law practice and the many organizations that she was a part of. My mother’s passion, empathy, humor, and wisdom continue to guide my family.
Public service is a tradition in the Raggio family that was started before I was born and continues today. In my own life I spent a year and half in the mid 1960’s as a civil rights worker. We worked to ensure that all Americans had equal protection under the law. But this started with my grandmother. She took my mom as an infant in her Model T Ford as she campaigned in the Central Texas to give women the right to vote. These are the values that I will take to Congress.
After spending 14 years in Washington, Pete Sessions has gone totally native. He spends his time cavorting around the country, raising money for candidates and scant time here at home in Texas. Help show Pete enough is enough.
I’m Grier Raggio and I’m running for Congress because it’s about time someone treated Texas families as well as Pete treats the special interests groups.
With unemployment and our education system falling behind our competitors, we need a Congressman who will get up everyday and fight for us – not spend their time gallivanting around the country with billionaires and lobbyists.
Think I’m kidding about how Pete Sessions spends his time? Check out this video and you’ll realize the joke is on us for as long as we let Pete Sessions continue to represent the 32nd District.
If you’re ready to make a change and send Pete packing, please contribute $250, $100, $50 and I promise I’ll be a Congressman whose only special interest will be you!
Dear Friend,
I always wanted to run for Congress. Circumstances beyond my control never allowed me to do so.
Now, I feel that I have a second chance! My eldest son, Grier Raggio Jr., is running as a Democrat for the seat now held by Republican Pete Sessions. Grier is eminently qualified. He is an attorney with 42 years of service. He has started and still owns small businesses and has been active in community service his whole life.
Grier is getting lots of support. His race is one of 26 nationally, and the only one in Texas, that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has designated as a priority in its efforts to replace Republican incumbants. In January House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer spoke in Dallas at an event for Grier, reminding us that "This race is not about Grier; it's about America...I'm here," he said "because we need pragmatic, problem-solving men and women like Grier in Congress."
Grier needs to have the resources to get his message of problem-solving and fiscal discipline out to the voters of the 32nd District. Please help us today by being as generous as you can. Please click: https://raggio.zissousecure.com/Get_Involved/Contribute to make a contribution today.
Cordially,

Dallas, TX – Tonight, CNBC will air a special program called “More Secrets of the Knight: The Allen Stanford Scandal” which will further explore disgraced financier Allen Stanford’s effort to gain favor with congressional leaders such as Dallas Congressman Pete Sessions in an effort to cover his tracks.
